About Maurice

A childhood photograph published in a "Y" journal captures me at age 7, with brush in hand, at an easel, not very much different from my routine today. A scholarship for ceramics and painting in the seventh grade to attend a Rochester Memorial Art Gallery began the path for my career in the arts.

High School was work, college delightful, end result an Associate of Applied Science and Bachelor of Fine Arts Degrees with a major in illustration from the Rochester Institute of Technology received in 1965.

Philadelphia College of Art 1970 - 1972, at that time receiving my Masters in Art and my teaching certification.

During this period I showed in several exhibits in the community representing the school system and regularly attend Fleicher Art Memorial, and adjunct to the Philadelphia Art Museum, receiving awards in ceramics. I also mentored University of the Arts student teachers in their educational program.
